In today’s brief video blog I discuss what a coach is really saying when he or she says to “pull the slack out of the bar.”

It’s a common cue, and one I feel tends to elicits looks like this from people receiving it:

A blank, emotionless void.

All kidding aside, it’s a cue that does hold a lot of weight (<– sick pun1) and accomplishes many things:

You’ve signed out of Slack. Using Slack; Product; Enterprise; Pricing; Support; Slack Guides; Slack; Jobs; Customers; Developers; Events; Blog. In stressful times, taking time for ourselves is no sign of weakness. In fact, occasionally stepping away can prolong your career and prevent burnout. Study after study shows that breaks—and personal time off in particular—increase productivity and creativity, and leads to healthier, happier and more successful employees.

  • Teaches people to get and maintain tension.
  • Teaches people to get and maintain tension.
  • Teaches people to get and maintain tension.
  • Improves your Spanish.
